Points and referral rules — TripTogether

1. What points are

Points and tiers (Explorer, Voyager, Globetrotter, Legend) are a token of appreciation for activity in the app. They have no cash value. They cannot be redeemed for money, bought, sold, transferred to someone else or converted, and they are not a means of payment.

2. How you earn them

• Creating a trip: 100 points.
• Adding a place: 10 points. Scheduling a place on a day: 5 more points.
• Logging an expense in the trip wallet: 5 points.
• Publishing a post: 20 points.
• A completed referral: 250 points for the inviter and 250 for the new member.

Points for trips, places and expenses are calculated from activity in trips you created. In shared trips you joined, these points go to the trip owner. Deleting content removes the points earned for it.

3. Referrals

• Every account has a personal referral code.
• A referral is "completed" when a new user creates an account with the code and creates their first trip.
• Each account can redeem a referral code only once, and never its own code.
• You may not create fake accounts, spam the code, or offer money for sign-ups.
• Inviting friends happens on your initiative and from your device. We don't send messages on your behalf. Only invite people who want it.

4. Changes and termination

We may change the earning rules or end the program with 30 days' notice in the app. Points already earned will not be canceled retroactively, except in cases of abuse.

5. Abuse

If there is reasonable suspicion of abuse, we may cancel points earned improperly, after contacting you and giving you a chance to explain.

6. Future benefits

If benefits for tiers are offered in the future, their terms will be published in advance and separately.
